Calling Canadian DCT M3's
I recently heard from a sales rep at a dealer in Toronto that the launch control function on DCT M3's in Canada was severely limited (he said the max RPM was 1500) I have a hard time believing this to be true, but I figured I'd get the info from the horse's mouth.
Canadian DCT M3 owners, is your launch control crippled? |

I was told by the dealer that the launch mode is not available until you put about 3000km on the car.. it simply won't let you select it until the car feels it is broken in enough.
I only have 2500km on mine so far so I have not even attempted it.. plus it is snowing outside |

Have tried mine fully once (set it up many times but only actually went through with it once as finally had not one vehicle in sight). Done at 3:00AM on a Thursday night after work.
See pic below but I'll never admit to it. This picture was taken 3 days after the launch and I couldn't stop as had green light. You can adjust the launch RPM's (can't remember what the range is but I believe it's quite broad) but mine was set without me adjusting it at 5500RPM's!! |

Thanks for the responses guys
@Jimmer great pic! @Big Windy: I know it was a ludicrous proposition but this SA was pretty adamant about it. I chose not to argue and seek confirmation here. |
