How's this deal?
Blue '08 M3 coupe. MSRP 67,200. It's a demo w/ 300 miles. Dealer will sell for 61,985. Is this a good deal? He also said I could lease for $847(incl. taxes!) a month with only $1834 out of pocket(36 months/12k miles per yr.) The money factor he quoted me was .0025
This "normally" would seem like a pretty decent deal, but in this market today how does it stack up?? Thanks and hoping to rejoin the M Group soon.( I totalled an '05 m3 convert with only 5k miles ), Canesr1

sounds like a manual transmission launch car. local dealer in upstate ny has an interlagos silver coupe 6mt they've had for a while at the same sticker of 67.2 and they've advertised 5k off on their website since may/june. they'll go as far as 7k off which i think is a great deal. either way even with all these big discounts and financing it's not like they are flying off shelves so i think you can get a bit more than 5k off.

Yup 1093.00 + tax..... by using Oct rates though.....
I say a little too much money for a lease but then there is minimal money down....

There's another demo at princeton with over 5000 miles, I wuold be much more wary of that one than one with only 300+miles. Ali- What can happen to it if it's "beaten up" or not broken in properly?

Isn't there a warranty on ALL new BMW's for 4/50k? I'm not comprehending? What do you mean by beaten? What could happen to a car not properly broken in?

People will drive a demo EXTREMELY hard for one of a few reasons. It may be a true enthusiast who wants to see the cars limits before dropping $70G. It can be a service tech, or even owner of the dealership, that wants to see how fast the new car is. It can be an old lady who drives over curbs on the way into the dealership. If it's a manual tranny, some dealers "teach" new drivers how to drive stick on a demo so they can decide which transmission they will eventually purchase. .... The bottom line is that it is possible to damage the transmission (both gears and clutch), the engine, the brakes, and/or the suspension all within a few hundred miles. Some demo cars are great, and some become problems. You just have to realize that you are rolling the dice with a demo car as you don't know who's driven it. (or more importantly, how they were driving it)

Actually, with most demos still out there, the warranty has already started. BMW extends the warranty for demo cars a bit (3 months and 5,000 miles I think), but for a demo this old you're probably still not getting the full 4 years/50,000 miles. Call BMW with the VIN and ask them. The dealer is not required to proactively disclose the modified warranty (at least not in CA as I understand it).

I redlined my dealers demo in every gear and hit 147MPH while my CA was in the car. The car had 120 miles. I would only give 60K for that demo. Then again 300 miles aint bad but you can do better that 62K.

good choice. Cmon a CA (me of course), is telling an enthusiast not to take a demo, that means something?
If you were tight on cash, then eya its a good deal, just make sure of warranty If you plan on keeping the car, and want to enjoy every bit of, NEW is the way to go.
