Is this a coupe or sedan? Check Edmunds for the invoice cost for car + options.

In this economy....start with invoice plus $1000. Try several dealers, be patient and be prepared to walk. Make sure they have your contact info and sit it out for a few days....you'll get calls. If they hit a price you are willing to live with....go for it. I would not negotiate MSRP down.

Dealer just called me it has 47 miles on it and they are working on price right now. Is this normal for an M car to have this many miles on it ? Iv'e seen some pics here with cars that have like 3 miles.

I would go with $1000 over invoice and NOT budge a cent... have you seen the news that BMW is cutting production significantly? The dealer will do $1000 over invoice .. just be patient. I got $2500 under invoice back in Sept hardly even trying.

Seriously

Who freaking cars, 47 miles on it? Once the cars come in the test them and then some people test drive the cars so miles add up. Now if the car had 200-300 miles I can understand, but 47 miles is like an afternoon of driving.

Yep Dave.....that is a great price for you. But I guess in all fairness, it is a 2009 so $1221 over invoice is good. But I'd be patient if I were you. Remember, they just got 2009s so its not like you wont be able to find another one and the 3.9% is not going anywhere anytime soon. Let him know you are still looking elsewhere and that another local guy is working a deal for you. Give it a day and the manager will call you with "congrats....you win."

Just my gut feeling.

Take it. It's a loaded '09 so I'm sure it will move and at the end of the day if you give up a car like this based on $500-$1000 then you probably can;t afford it in the first place. Go for it

I'm sure you can get this car for $500-800 over invoice already. who cares if someone can pay for a $70k or $100k car and is nitpicking about $500. Well, guess what that's $500 in my pocket. Saving is savings. Do you think Sam Walton (walmart) is rich because he squanders his money away? Warren Buffet, do you see him driving a Ferrari? If he did own a Ferrari, I'll bet any amount of money that he got a good deal on it. idiots and their money will soon get separated. so, I say haggle as much as you can for the best price.

Thank you SpencerM3 just looking out for the best deal I can get. After reading about all these under invoice deals and so on,the last thing I wanted was the stealership trying to take advantage of me,yes the car is beautiful to they just sent me pics from the showroom.
I am really wanting this car because it has everything I wanted colors and all, other dealers are coming of the wall today with there's not alot of room to move off price on this car??,so I was like ok thanks by.

Guys I am not one to throw money away at all! In fact I always grind for the best deal. But me personally, if I really want something that bad, I will not let it get away over $500. No I am not Sam Walton or Warren Buffet, I think those two are extreme examples when talking about $500, but for the sake of your argument I agree, but at the end of the day $500 is merely .07% of the purchase price.

Additionally all these smoking $1000 under invoice/$500 over invoice seem to be on existing '08s. Inparticular '08 sedans. I remember Will of Long Beach BMW saying $1000 over invoice for an '08 DCT in SoCal is about as goiod as you'll get. The car that U2SLO is talking about is a LOADED '09 Coupe, so $1200 over invoice sounds pretty damn good to me.
