Down pipes on 50i
My 2016 X5 50i is completely stock other than a JB4 on Map 1, which I’ve been content with up until recently. I’m looking to add a little more power. Read up on bootmod3 stage 2 which requires downpipes. Anyone know if there’s a significant change in power from JB4 Map 1 to bootmode3 stage 2 91 octane ? Also when removing stock CATs is anything else required to do on the vehicle or simple swap ?
I’m sitting at 38K so I’d get new plugs and possibly coils, any other services recommended ? |

Even a good Stg 1 tune will be stronger than JB4. Stg2 with DPs will be a completely different animal. You're talking about ca. +150hp. DP is simple swap but it is a PITA to remove the OEM and replace it with the aftermarket. You can use old clamps but you should get new gaskets. You should also get cooler spark plugs. You can check the original coils and keep using them if they do not give you any trouble after Stg2.
