After 3 leaking stock S55 cooler cores, I decided to try one of these on my n54, so I bought a few from Alibaba. It looks better than the stock cooler in my opinion. Also, one look at the core and you can tell that it flows significantly more than the stock cooler, and using it improved my 3rd gear acceleration pull time by 0.2 seconds... However, with my heat exchanger and water pump flow rate (not an S55), the cooler did not cool as well as the OEM one on my N54. It might work fine on the S55, I really can't tell you. I have pressure tested this intercooler and it does not leak. If you are interesting in experimenting, I have one in new condition with mounting hardware (not bracket) for $385 shipped including paypal fees. If you want to make your own custom cooler, cutting the core out of one of these is going to be better than starting at zero. |

Bump, cleaning garage and I have another one of these that I used for test fitting while I was mocking up custom intercooler piping.
This has been pressure tested, chased the threads, reemed the sensor port to the proper size. Includes fasteners. |
