Porsche Taycan Turbo / Tesla Model 3 Performance rivalry

https://www.teslarati.com/porsche-ta...mance-rivalry/

Thoughts? Would you buy a Taycan Turbo instead of a Model 3 Performance? If so, why?

Listed 0-200 time is about 50% faster than a Model 3 Perf. And it actually looks okay. It's built by a company that can sell cars in my state and gets EV discounts.

Garage List
Because the interior is actually a nice place to be in and not low rent like a Model 3?

Why is this even a question?

Tesla = capital from prepayment and non-auto industries, no parent company to support it, questionable financial health and other practices, multiple manufacturing issues, inferior product beyond propulsion systems and the 'cult of the brand'

Porsche = capital and credit from decades of consumer- and competition-level manufacturing, the world's largest automotive parent company, stable financial health despite recent threats to it (i.e., Dieselgate), no major manufacturing issues (and a recently retrofitted 'mother ship' plant to build product in), competitive to superior products in nearly every measurable way with only occasional engineering foibles.

Oh, wait: The OP's link is on a Tesla-fan website. Now I get it ... :: SMH ::

The Taycan will be a Model S competitor price-wise, so it's not really a valid comparison.

From the linked article:

"The base Taycan will be RWD only, and it will come with an 80 kWh battery pack and a choice of 322 bhp or 376 bhp motors, as well as a low ~$90,000 starting price. The mid-range Taycan Carerra 4S, estimated to be priced in the high ~$90,000 range, will be fitted with a 96 kWh battery pack and offer 429 bhp or 483 bhp.

The Taycan Turbo, which is also equipped with a 96 kWh battery, is expected to cost around £120,000 ($149,000. That’s almost 50% more expensive than a Tesla Model S Performance with Ludicrous Mode, which currently costs just below $100,000. An even more potent Taycan Turbo S with 724 bhp and an RWD Taycan GTS are also in the works. In comparison, the Model 3 Performance is currently priced at less than $55,000 with basic Autopilot as standard."

Minor fact, but comparing GBP prices to USD required you to take off the 20% VAT, putting the Model S and Taycan pretty much at even pricing across the major option lines.
