Ok guys so I’m stationed in Germany but I’m trying to get a E92 from the UK and was wondering if I do get the car will I be able to bring it back to US?

You can certainly import cars from the UK, but you're going to have to follow a lot of regulations, apply to the UK to do so, apply to the US to do so, etc. etc.

I'd highly advise you Google this and read all of the applicable laws (and probably talk to a company that will do the transport).

Be prepared to pay - you'll be paying duty on the vehicle itself too.

Is there some reason you want/need a UK RHD model rather than a US model?

The M3 is luckily on the NHTSA import list, but you probably still need a registered importer for any modifications needed (indicators, lights, etc.)

If you're bringing it to the US then buy a Canadian spec car instead. They have the European gauge cluster so you don't get that stupid one in the US cars if that's what you're worried about?

Plus they're LHD unlike the UK cars.

You mean the freedom cluster..?

Most UK m's will be rust buckets, wait till you get state side and get a California car..

No I mean the completely random, pulled out of someone's ass, 16th century way of measuring speed and distance that Americans still use.

You are correct about the UK cars being rust buckets though

given, other than one recently being $60k, the rest usually commanding over $100,000, that's probably not a very economical suggestion lol

Ouch - are those actual current prices in Europe converted to US dollars?

Not practical as a daily but at least the depreciation is over and headed the other way.

I actually was remembering prices from an article I read but I forgot how long ago that was - https://www.bmwblog.com/2011/05/30/b...as-ever-built/

I'm sure prices have gone down in 8 years! (At least I hope)

EDIT: A good copy seems like it's still at least 50K USD

strangely, the import list only says M3s up to 2010 are OK, but it looks like it hasn't been updated since 2011
