Is your car coded to open the sunroof with a button on your fob? Do you have comfort access and have your keys in your pocket?

I can only assume that one of the buttons got held down while the fob was in my pocket and it activated the "hot summer day-let the hot air out" feature

Maybe this happened while you were actually in the car???? Otherwise a ghost.

Yeah, we have a standard BMW. Panoramic roof on my E70 did the same thing occasionally, which wouldn't have been that big of a deal except that it refused to close sometimes.

I don't know what it is about the electrical systems in Euro cars that manage to not be as reliable as a domestic vehicle that costs half the price.
