My New 2013 6MT M3

Recently sold my 2009 C4S to free up space and resources for an e92 M3. The Porsche was beautiful and fun in its' own right but for whatever reason lacked the soul that I've come to love in the BMW's.

Certain that I was going to have to wait to find what I was looking for, I was happy to find a high quality, low mileage example that ticked all of the boxes for me in a relatively short time. The car was being sold by a private party enthusiast, so I was able to avoid the guessing game and hassles that typically come along with buying from a dealer.

Details:

2013 (Production Date Oct, 2012)
Space Grey
Black Novillo
6MT
Competition package
Carbon Fiber Roof
and the kicker...7350 miles when I bought it.

The car has spent all of its' life garaged and aside from an almost invisible door ding on the passenger door and a rock chip on the hood, the car is immaculate. Smells new, is very tight to drive and I freaking love it.

I plan to have the bearings done within the next month or so. Yes, the car is super low mileage and yes, it may potentially be a waste of money but I want the peace of mind and added value that this will bring to the car.

I also need to have the front plate bracket removed and the bumper resprayed. From what I can tell, the bracket was mounted directly on the bumper, so I will remove it and have it repaired. Sucks, but NC doesn't require a front license plate and I prefer a clean look, it has to get done.

Outside of all of that, the only mod that I've planned for - and already done - is the installation of a ZHP knob to help out with the ridiculously long throws.

By the way, hope the images are sized correctly. I hate uploading pics to these forum sites. They rarely seem to work for me...usually undersized or oversized.

This is the problem with finds like this car...you hate to mod them.

The car has the BMW aluminum pedals in it which are always a nice upgrade. As I said, I also did the ZCP knob and I was torn there because it's not illuminated. I did it anyway, though, because I love manual transmissions and it's all about the shift action for me.

I don't like alcantara steering wheels, so that's out.

What would you do that isn't tacky or over the top?

I'm curious, why do you park the e30 and e92 like that in your garage?

I'd consider bmwp pieces. I'm an oem parts guy myself. Some minor bmwp parts would be a nice addition and still keep it clean.

Bmwp spoiler, mirror, splitters?
IND paint matched side reflector?
If you like the quiet exhaust, maybe just replace the tips with EAS 80mm tips?

That's about all I'd do. Car is perfect

Because I love doing 30 point turns to park my cars lol

No, believe it or not the 2 slot garage door is destroyed and I can't open it. It's a long story but I have 2 new doors on order then will go back to normal entry and exit.

So, in order to get them in, I have to do it. Definitely PIA but I am glad I can at least get them inside.

It is illuminated if you buy the F10 M5 shift knob:

And don't forget to order an AutoSolutions shifter:

Stupid question. What’s the name of the app? Looked around in the App Store and couldn’t find it.

Yes, I actually posted that car yesterday when I found it on AutoTrader. Crazy how close it is to mine.

It has competition wheels but the seller doesn’t specify that it has the package. That said, in the interior pic you can see EDC, so it has to be a competition, right?

That wood trim is gross, though...no offense to anyone but it’s not my taste at all 😂

Suggestion: If you are going to have the front bumper painted, you should pick up a euro bumper and lose the reflectors.

And as a bonus, you'll have the original unpainted bumper in the future if someone decides to be a hardass about the paint.

Nope, EDC is not indicative of the competition package.

Agreed that wood trim has no place in an M3.

Congrats! Cool car and find.

Enjoy her and hope to see u around NC tearing up these roads.

PS - I think you mean ZHP knob, your car came with a basic knob for ZCPs same as non-ZCP.
