BMW Individual colour - Japan Red
I'm a new M3 owner having just bought a 2011 E92 Comp Pack in Japan Red.
I'm told that it is a very rare colour and that there was only RHD 35 cars built in Japan Red and 12 of these were wrapped for the Red Frozen Edition. A question for the US/Canadian members, was Japan Red ever available in your countries and if so does anyone know how many were built.

I've seen Japan Red as individual order on E46M cars in the USA. Never on a E92M. Pics needed.

Pics needed.
Even though it was not 'available' in North America, I'm sure one could still custom order it through BMW Individual.

Sorry guys, I've only just bought the car in the last couple of days and it's gone straight into the workshop to have the rod bearings done.
As soon as I get it home and cleaned I'll get some pics for you. The Japan Red code 438 (or Electric Red is listed under the same colour code) is very very similar to Melbourne but perhaps a couple of shades brighter. I suspect you would only see the difference if they were side by side, or else you would think it was Melbourne.

Don't even think about starting a thread where a picture is likely needed to add some conjecture to the post, without first having pics to share If you don't have the pics yet, don't post yet. You see the fervor you created? What the hec is Japan Red? |

Although it is right hand drive. I'm too lazy to research which countries are RHD, but I don't think there's too many choices? Japan, Great Britain, Australia? Last edited by jd501; 11-02-2018 at 11:33 AM.. |
