So today I picked up my new SMB F80 CP from Melbourne BMW and am currently on a stopover on my way back to QLD.

This is my first F8X series and first impressions are it is everything I had hoped and more.

Car is currently without plates as am driving it up on an unregistered vehicle permit so that I can register it in QLD at the end of the week.

For those of you in QLD and have personalised plates, how did you attach them? I have a set of slimline flexi plates at home to go on when it's registered, but am reluctant to drill the front bumper and/or the plates. Is there a good supplier or recommendation for plate mounts/surrounds for the rear? Can I legally use high tack double side tape for the front plate?

Any suggestions appreciated!

Attached are a few pictures I took in the delivery bay this morning.

Great colour. SMB and TB are my favourite.

With the plates. I recently collected my F82 from Brisbane BMW and they fitted my slimline plates and did a great job. They have a guy there who does all their plate installations.

It is beautiful.

Looking forward to seeing more photos.

I have been looking at this one, also SMB:

But now I've also been considering a porsche... oh what dilemmas

My dealer gave me 3M dual lock adhesive to attach my plates after i told him for the 5th time not to drill holes into my bumper lol

Works a charm, and much sturdier than hook and loops

Thanks for all the comments! Am really happy with the car!

I'll be back home with it tomorrow so once I've had a chance to wash 1600km of dust and bugs off of it I'll take some more pictures!

Can you buy this 3M dual lock adhesive somewhere?

Edit: Is this the right stuff?

Not sure what you mean, there aren't any decals or extra side skirts on mine. Just the standard sides. Maybe just the angle of the picture perhaps?

The link you have posted will work for the dual lock adhesive - provided the bumper section is flat... if its curved it's probably safer to use 3M double sided tape (the heavy duty stuff). Can assist if around Bris area, done multiple sets of these.

Haha, I got the other one that was at brighton bmw, it's on it's way up to QLD now as well!

Epic car, epic colour!

Sadly I've already bought a plethora of mods. Can't wait.

Hopefully I don't go over the top like the e90 haha.

Let me know if you want to mod it! VRSF dealer and BM3 dealer.

I run simply tuning in brisbane and own the ohhrly 335i

Thanks everyone! The car is a real head turner and attracts loads of attention.
She's had it's running in service now, so just need to find some opportunities to drive her properly!

If anyone know's of any run outs in the Brisbane/Gold Coast area, let me know... I don't expect there is much going on in Toowoomba!!

Congrats on your new car 101Duck, bet you can't wait for it to arrive! I'm not planning any performance mods on mine (not yet anyway). I've just looked up your Facebook page, might have to bring the car over to you for a run on the rollers to see how she's doing as standard.
