F80 M3 pre & post Meth’ with custom BEF

Hey guys,

Here is a pre & post dyno graph of a F80 with a JB4 tune, high flow catted DPs and stock OEM inlet system running on 98RON pump gas.

Peak power achieved before the installation of the Burger methanol injection system and custom remap of the DME (JB4 Map 6 tuning) was around 330rwkW. As you can see, the extra octane and increased IAT suppression achieved a significant gain in peak power with an even greater delta value through the mid range. Please note that I’d fully expect to see 380-390rwkW if the car was fitted with free flowing catless DPs and a high flow inlet system, such as that from aFe or for those that want engine bay bling the super sexy Eventuri carbon fibre kit, lol

Also it’s worth noting for those guys who would prefer not to use methanol, a similar result can be achieved with the use of E85 on the stock fuel system and OEM turbochargers of course.

Cheers,
Justin.

Sure no problem mate, what are your current power mods?

I should also mention that a completely stock F8x will make around 300rwkW on the Advan Performance dyno as used here.

I have a JB4, catless DP's, Injen intake and Magnaflow midpipe and rear muffler.

I need to get my car to Sydney, don't I, or can someone do it Adelaide?

50-60 kw at the wheels from a downpipe and intake ? That's abit optimistic to be honest.

IMO current 371kw to 380-390kw is only 10/20 kw which should be achievable , with mods suggested ?

The car made 330kw with JB4 and High Flow Cat Downpipes

It has now made 371kw with the above, plus a custom back end flash and methanol injection.

JD75 is estimating another 10-20kw gain by going to catless downpipes and an aftermarket intake.

It has a 'back end flash' already so similar to an ECU flash but it's designed to work with the JB4 so the JB4 can control the boost target and meth flow.

That's not how the post read.

Thanks for clarifying.

If you are based in Adelaide I would just remote tune the car after reviewing datalogs from 3rd gear (preferably 4th) pulls on the street or via the use of a dyno if you are not a midnight runner, lol.

If you wanted to take things to the next level and upgrade the stock turbos and fuel system for the use of 100% E85 then sure by all means I'd suggest you transport the car to Sydney, but the installation of a Burger methanol injection system is pretty straight forward and your existing mechanic should have no problem handling that.

I can also talk you through the back-end-flashing of the DME and the loading of subsequent flash revisions should they be required.

Cheers,

J.

A standalone flash does have its benefits, as a JB4 tuned car may not be a silky smooth on partial throttle as a flash tune only vehicle.

But the JB4 offers excellent Meth' system integration and for those guys that are keen to use E85 and upgrade their stock fuel system to support high-flow turbochargers port injection control is superior to the hardware used if you have a standalone flash.

Well I did say if "the" car was fitted, not if "a" car... but apologies for the confusion and it looks like we are all on the same page now.
