Hi guys

Gearing up to start doing some more road trips (vic high country, tassie etc) now that I've sorted the dampening quality with the tractive coilovers

But has anyone done any real world road noise comparo's of the 19" vs 20" wheels on our typical coarse bitumen highways - ie; is there any noticeable gain in nvh running a 35 vs 30 series tyre

I'd happily buy a set of oe 437's and put them on for long trips, or even a set of aftermarket 19s

hey mate,
are you finding big difference with the coilovers or are you posting as you still have a lot of NVH even with the change?

reason i ask is i think NVH is largely due to the 30 profile tyres of the competition rims.

The US Comfort suspension EDC settings seems to have helped with my car a little but still can be jarring or transmit quite a lot due to such thin sidewall.

Ride quality with the tractive springs + shocks is ridiculously good, the dampening is spot on, better comfort over sharp bumps and less body roll

They have made the decision for me to keep the car longer and get it out to do some more road trips across the state

But no coilover will fix road noise, that is a tyre and suspension bushing (or lack of in rear) issue - I'm just curious if a thicker sidewall would help

I'll do a full review of the tractive soon, I weighed the shocks n all, in meantime this will give you an idea of the improvement to be had

I think tyre choice will be your only avenue for reducing sound. Buy those 19 rims and research some quiet tyre brands.

On long trips I can get bothered by subtle steering vibration. Driving gloves do the trick for this plus you get to look really cool (my opinion) or a complete loser/dag (wife's opinion).

Tyres are the source of noise, I don’t think 18/19/20 in sizes matter too much so long as the tread isn’t too blocky
