Opinions on clearing head lights.

So hopefully my car will be done from my deer hunting episode this week. Talked to the body shop and am looking for opinions on if I should have the head lights shot with some clear coat.

I was also thinking about having paint film done on the head lights.

Any opinions on which way to go or not to even bother with any of it?

Thanks.

Are they faded or scratched up? It's advised to apply some sort of protection after wet sanding and polishing plastic lights.

One is going to be factory new. The other is in question. The body shop hasn't received the used part yet to make a determination on if it will be acceptable or not. Chances are I'll end up with two new headlights.

I would insist on 2 new headlights. Pay the difference if you absolutely have to. They gave my son a new and used headlight after an accident and it looked terrible. I know you said the body shop will look to see if it's acceptable, but I, personally, would push hard for 2 new headlights.

Agreed with Esteban. It's painfully obvious to spot vehicles that have been in front end collisions thanks to mismatched headlights. Do yourself a favor and shell out for a new set, or better yet, use this as an opportunity to buy the European market items if you dislike the amber lenses.

Got word from the body shop they are ordering a new headlight for the other side. So now I'll have two new headlights. I've also decided to go the vinyl film route. Waiting on a price quote on getting it done.

This is a great investment. Can't stand seeing chips and other wear accumulating on modern headlights...the projector lens designs are like works of art.
