Almost time for brakes- suggestions?

Hey everyone! It looks like I'm nearing the point of having to replace my pads and rotors, front and rear. Do you guys have any suggestions on the best replacements? ECS has a few different kits so I'll include the link. If you recommend something other than what's listed in the link please let me know! I still have a bit of life left so it's not something I have to do ASAP but I'd like to have an idea of what to get so I can start budgeting. Thank you!

I think you'd be perfectly happy with the ECS kit of Zim & Tex.

I found Rockauto to be the best price last year. Centric “premium” blanks, the ones with the painted hats, and StopTech Street Performance pads. No complaints.

Is that basically what the OE setup is? Also is there a difference in brakes between pre 03/2010 and post 03/2010 135i's?

I second RockAuto. I haven’t done brakes on my 1er yet, but I paid RockAuto $239 shipped for Stoptech rotors and Akebono pads on my B8 S4.....ECS wanted $300 just for the same exact rotors and that was without shipping.

FWIW, Zimmerman are the only rotors I'm aware of still made in Germany. It's hard to find pads with better initial bite than the OE pieces. Dusty? Sure. But they stop from cold, which is paramount in street use.

I like the BMW performance rotors (which aren't in your link, or I just didn't see them). Get those, some stock pads and you'll be good to go.

Does anyone know why there are two different part numbers for pre 03/2010 and post 03/2010 cars for brakes?

I wish Zimmermann still sold their version of the BMW Performance rotors...
