DCT shifting question

So when in Manual mode (sport button engaged, DCT button engaged) and I'm at say 3500ish rpm in 3rd and floor it, the car still auto downshifts into 2nd, way up in the rev range where the car starts to run out of steam (and adds a shift). Is there any means of stopping the car from auto downshifting on hard acceleration?

I have done a good bit of google searching on this and haven't found the answer. All the threads I've found are people complaining about auto downshifts in manual mode when decelerating (which is fine with me), but I've found nothing on accelerating auto downshifts when in manual mode.

You are probably hitting the kickdown switch. If you do regardless of what settings you are in it will go to 2nd gear. It's that little bit of extra resistance that you feel right before "pedal to the metal". Takes practise to go WOT without hitting the kick down switch, or just go with a kickdown switch block/lockout.

Ahh, great. I have never owned a dct, this is new for me. I thought that switch was there to initiate launch mode, and true WOT was only achieved by mashing. Great to know! Thanks.

Ciao!
Those seem to be your exact intentions.

If we're worried about grammar (mine was fine), your usage of "Sorry," was unnecessary, as was your second comma. "To be" is also poorly used.

My vehicle does the same (DCT trans). It will do this automatically to match the throttle position and rpms and the like. Your not hitting the paddle to downshift or the gear shifter. Mine will only go to 2nd gear when your in a rolling position, never 1st.
