OBD ii to USB Logging Options

What Logging cables 7 Software is there in the market for Logging engine perimeters etc?

I know you can get Wi-fi and Blue tooth loggers to use with Carly for BMW, but if its anything like Carly for Mercedes, the Sample rate is crap. If anyone has experince with Carly for BMW please chip in here regarding the quality of data your getting while logging, and if you used their OBD adapter or a different one.

I'm looking for an equivalent tool similar to the VAGCOM cable I had back in the day for my Audi. Is there anything similar for the M3?

The data I would like is stable fixed sample rate data at fixed RPM intervals.

The cable or device isn't the issue, it's the availability of software. There are few companies that provide that and used for track and racing application, check the track sub forum for details, albeit in the few hundred $ range.

What is it that you want to log in real-time?

Boost, intake Air Temps, Timing per cylinder, timing Retard per cylinder, Oil Temps, Gearbox Temps etc. To name a few.

Will look in the track section. Initial searches turned up nothing, but will check again.

Thanks aboulfad. This is a step in the right direction but I’m looking more for a logging tool to store the data for later viewing. Timing also doesn’t seem to be an available parameter either.

These are definitely more track focused than logging focused. I wouldn’t mind one of these as well mind you.

Then another choice is PTF BM3 but it's also pricey, and they log tons of channels, save to excel,... one of the many features that platform offers, but it's mainly for people who tune their car and want to log data. Of course you can just use their logging capability without the tune!
