Burning Smell
Good morning,
I received a recall notice in the mail from BMW about some wiring issue and a burning smell is a symptom of it. Should I get this checked out cuz I saw that the burning smell occurs after long periods of the heater being turned on but would this also be a common occurrence after driving the car hard for 15 mins? Please advise

Don't park car inside house garage. Don't turn on your AC system until cable is replaced.

Call the service department and tell them you're scared to drive the car or park it at home etc and they will take it and give you a rental.
If you just call and ask about it, they will tell you they don't have the parts right now and to wait till they call you.

Over here in the PNW the local dealer offered a rental car until parts came in even if I was not noticing any issues yet. I decided not to as they don't know when parts are coming in and I didn't want to be stuck with a base model dodge caliber or whatever their small suv is.
