ECS Blackout Kidney Grills???

Hey all, where (ECS??) can I get Blackout Kidney Grills that don't have the upper "lip" like the ones below?

Looking for matte black but ECS seems to only make the ones above.

I prefer the style of the ones below (see how the top edge isn't "thick"?) but I don't like the gloss look, I prefer matte black.

Get the genuine BMW M Performance grills, perfect match to the Shadow Line trim and OEM quality. Mat black matches nothing and if you want that you might as well spray can the stock ones!

Yep, been thinking about that. Always liked the matte look but on this car, it's may not be "nice" enough haha.

Listen to Upsrod mate. Went with matte for my previous bimmer cause I figured elegant but turned out to look sheap. Changed for gloss and same with the M3. Fits perfect with the other bits trust us.

matte pieces also tend to age horribly...starts looking awful when it gets worn

You should also be careful to order kidney grills that are specific to the e9x M3. The ones you listed from ECS are for the pre-LCI 3 series e90, and not the M3.

The kidney design for the M3 did not change throughout the entire production, and within all 3 variants. Meanwhile they are different and have changed for the regular 3 series.

My matte blacks are almost 8 years old and show no wear. I think the gloss look a bit chintzy.
