Weird exhaust(?) noise driving me NUTS!

2011 M3 50k miles. Dinan exhaust + intake + tune. No fault codes, runs like a champ. Tightened exhaust near headers. Cats are still in. Noise is coming from near front of car. More noticeable under load and low revs. Its f*ing annoying!

Any ideas? Sounds a bit like cold start sequence. I’ve searched forums, and
Im a DIY-er.

This is my 2nd m3 in the last year (same year/color/options). My last one (4 months old) was totalled by a gal that ran a red and t-boned Me! My other one never made this sound.

Sounds pretty normal, I mean the only real way to tell would be to upload the video file, YouTube does 2channel audio which kinda makes it shit

Really? I just listened to it on my iphone - the noise sounds clear to me. Anyway .. almost sounds like a fluttering - or a manifold or gasket leak. Its more obvious when engine is warmed up.

hmm... now that's really interesting. On that note, I'm going to take the cover and filter out and see what effect that has. Does the sound bother you?

I hear it loud and clear ( no doubt) It's a kind of scraping noise which increases in strenght with the engine speed (rpm's)
Your noise sounds NOT like metallic (that's good news) Personally I think it's your drive belt (not sure) or a exhaust leak .
Your noise is actually pretty easy to locate , because it seems you can produce it at anytime.
Once found . Let me know ..
