M760i

Hello Everyone,

My cousin bought a brand new 2018 M760i yesterday, so we went pick it up last night. For some reason he always wants me to drive his new cars before he does, so I drove it home, about 30 miles. He is a big BMW fan and currently has 1 x 760 and 3 x 750s among other brands.

Car is Azurite Black Metallic with Cashmere Beige/Black Full Merino Leather, with all the goodies sans Night Vision.

The M760ix is simply amazing. I was extremely surprised the way that big hog handles and, yes, accelerates; very impressionable. Handling is superb. Interior is just perfect. For obvious reasons I could not try the best of it, motor and suspension/brakes, but had a really good sample.

Different cars, different purposes, but it made me wonder...

Just thought about sharing my experience.

Thanks for listening.

I know why he wanted you to drive it Fausto... Is there anything better than being a passenger in your own car while watching another enjoy the experience of driving it? I get a kick out of watching friends drive an M3 for the first time. Pictures would help

Damn, just checked the specs on the 760i - 6.6-liter BMW M Performance TwinPower Turbo V-12 engine: 0-60 MPH = 3.6 . That's bonkers.

Yep. And did you see the starting MSRP? $156,700 before any "packages'/options added! I can only imagine the depreciation in the first couple years...

It is a beast. Having the power & torque on the display is insane. Thing has about 590ft.lbs or torque!

Agree with the depreciation. But he keeps his cars, so that doesn't concern him much. Sticker on this particular one is $179,445. He's got a "good" deal @ $173k out the door. Still, too much for my pocket.

Damn! And yes, most folks buying those cars are not concerned with the depreciation!!

I think the reason the owner wanted the OP to drive it was because the M760i is closer to a limousine than an M car....and you were his limo driver

Not exactly nice pictures, but an idea. Will ask him for better pictures this week.
And I hope, I really do, that he keeps his promise and will not smoke inside the car!

Beautiful!

In the family there's a F01 7 series. I love driving it. Comfortable but not wallow-y

Some colleagues of mine are in Vancouver. Took them around for dinner and such while they were in town and couldn't pick their jaws off the floor when I showed them what Vancouver money will get them in my neck of the woods.

I drove one briefly at M Track days and it was the highlight IMO. Just a superb luxury sport sedan. The best 7 series since E38 and this one crushes them all.

Drove one too recently at a BMW event and it is an extraordinary car. The torque is amazing on those cars, very different from the e92 M3. Congrats to your cousin, hope he enjoys it in good health.

I saw one of these at the BMW in Oklahoma City last summer. Jesus. It's definitely a limousine. Check out the backward facing JUMP SEAT (unless those are footrests) that fold out of the front seat!!!
