Would you order your M3 the same way if you had a chance to do it again?

I’m still only two weeks into my journey so not knowledgeable enough to say what I would change if I did it all over again. Interested to hear thoughts from everyone.

I'm the 2nd owner so didn't spec it from new. I would prefer the cloth seats over leather, and delete the sunroof. Technically ZCP wasn't an option when mine was built, but if it was I'd add that in.

OP, congrats on your new m3!

I bought my 2011 e90 6mt zcp used so less choices available. Without a doubt I would have bought a zero option car except ZCP if I could do it again.

I hate the Nav/Idrive double hump dash. It is absolutely ugly compared to the simplistic single bump dash. I also dislike the moonroof.

For me, the m3 is my part-time fun car. It's not a luxury car and for me would be better without the gadgets.

I have speedcloth and manual seats and absolutely love them!!!

Bought mine used. It has every single option except for adaptive headlight (still auto full/half light). Where looking at another E90, same year, same 11k ish miles but basically no options at all. Paid 10k euro more for this with no regrets. Other then the rear sun protection, I use and appreciate everything. I'd live without the sunroof but use it once in a while just because I can.
Might ad that this is my only and daily car. Probably would be different if I had a couple of limos on top waiting in the garage...😉

I purchased mine as like the 3rd owner, so I didn't was far from the original owner. Having said that, the primary reason I went for the M3 was the spec---ZCP being the only option package, with heated seats and BT being the only meaningful standalone options. I was half heartedly looking for a C63, but they don't make a "basic" C63 or one with a manual.

But yeah, if I went back to 2011 and placed the order for an e92 M3, I'd probably get the same car I have now, but probably not in white (despite being a classic M3 color).

I'll be back in the market in 2018 and looking to go different from what I had before which was alpine white over black interior E90 ZCP DCT. If i could order a new E9x I would probably go E92 in SSII over fox red with alu trim and stick with DCT, ZCP, and EPS. I so wish BMW were still building these cars.

2013 E93 with DCT Silverstone, black interior, fully loaded except for the adaptive suspension. And since coilovers were added for the drop, adaptive wasn't missed in the least. So the car is perfect for me, wouldn't change a thin.

Now just looking for the perfect, subtle lip.

And then I'll add some tint.

And then later, a supercharger.

This car, a total keeper (and I'm coming from a beautiful tanzanite over silverstone F82).

I really wanted Fox red interior but had to settle for black and I'm missing the Premium sound. Both of which weren't deal breakers when I bought the car second hand but if I were to build it again I would change those 2 things.

My requirements were: 6MT, CF roof, iDrive and low-ish miles. I didn't even care about ZCP but I'm really glad it came with it. I'm also glad I got premium package.

Red interior really is nice to look at. Premium stereo is a must if you are big on music. Having the ability to change the sounds with an EQ, surround sound option, more speakers and a better amp really make the sound shine compared to hifi or base stereo options. Have you thought of upgrading your sound? There are a lot of good plug and play set ups out there, Bavsound being one.

Granted, I didn't buy my E90 new, but the exact way I got it!

Now if there was such thing as an E91 M3, then maybe there would be a discussion......

I wanted blue or white exterior, and ended up with Interlagos. Fully loaded minus extended leather, which doesn't matter since interior is black. Even has the sunshades, very handy in sunny Seattle I don't like the stripped models, I wanted everything available, so got everything I wanted.

I really like the fox red interior, but not a good match with Interlagos IMO.

If I had to do it again, maybe go Space Gray over Fox Red with all the same packages/options I have now minus sunroof. Not because I care about slicktop, I just never use them and they's always given me trouble on previous BMWs.

Tough question, since I'm the second owner.

I wonder how much it would have cost to get the competition package and what, other than different wheels, would I get out of the drive feel.

I have the enhanced sound. Wonder how different the premium sound is.

Are you taking about competition package and moving over to E92? In the hypothetical I mean.

I upgrade my sound system by opening the windows and using a lower gear

I am the second owner of my M3 and if I could change anything, it would be the colour. I soooo wanted a blue one. But space grey is pretty dope.

I agree, space gray is cool. Too funny, I just looked at the pics and I have no idea who that random kid in the pics is. Must have been checking out my ride when I took the pics. It was a long time ago.

Edit: Must have been dealers kid, now that I'm noticing the dealer plate. That was a great day seeing it for the first time. The car, not the kid.

Enhanced Sound and Premium Sound are the same thing. Option S752 Individual Audio.

Enhanced Premium Sound does sound better than the base audio, but overall it's still pretty weak IMO.

And I thought that before this week...currently driving a 2018 430i Gran Coupe service loaner. It doesn't even have the optional Harmon Kardon audio, and it sounds considerably better than the Enhanced Sound in the E9x M3.

Motor sounds exponentially worse though
