Carbon fiber mirror caps for e92 m3
I am thinking of buying the 2x2 weave Auto Tecknic, but I have heard about some fitment issues. Have any of you had any experience with them? Any suggestions on some decent and cheap CF mirror caps? These seem to be the only reasonably priced one with a 2x2 weave.
Thanks! |

Be careful getting any that are overlays. They tend to bubble and peel... OEM are the only ones I would get

True statement. Not sure which that I have as they came on the car when I bought it but driver side has peeled off. Mind could be OEM but they are most likely 6 years old and therefore, I don't think OEM even lasts much longer than that.

I got the cap replacement from JBspeed, they fit decently and quality has been good so far. I suspect they may be a bit thicker than OEM but not noticeable

I chose to get them as no one else sells 1x1 weave to match the roof. https://flic.kr/p/MnjVMH

I just put mine on. IMO, 10/10 on shipment, quality, and looks. 8.5/10 on fitment. But in all honesty, unless you're looking for it, you can't really tell.
In short, I am really happy with the product and price. |

Great to hear. Did you get the 1x1 or 2x2 carbon fibre weave?

I have the OEM ones and I purchased them from a guy on the forum. You may want to check out the classified section to see if they are still around.

I had an aftermarket CF mirror cap and it's a bit thick as it just overlays the mirror. I now have the OEM BMW version and it sits flush and much lighter.
