COD WW2, any good?
I don't care about campaign. I have not played video games in years. Use my Xbox 360 as a DVD player. Is COD WW2 multiplayer good enough to make me buy an Xbox One?

No, not good enough to buy a new xbox1 just to play COD: WW2 multiplayer. Unless you'd be playing it for 2 hours on average each day for a few months, I'd put the money elsewhere. The Campaign was good IMO, but it took a whole 6 hours to play start to finish.

I wouldn't buy a new console for it. There are glitches, frustrating menus in multiplayer, and the bandwidth support on their servers was piss poor for the first while (though last night was better).
So no. Not unless there are a few other games upcoming that you think you might also play. I haven't bought COD in about 3 years, but I did buy this bc it looked like a return to the basics - a concept I liked. And it is, in a lot of respects. So for that reason it is good. But not good enough to buy a new console for. At least there is no wall running / rocket man stunts in this one. |

Too early to tell. I think I'll judge it after I've had a while to get used to it. I'm still getting slaughtered in free for all, though that should change in a day or 2 (historically my kd ratio is about 1.67).

Bought it. Its ok. Small maps. Mediocre weapon sounds. Zombies is cool. I definitely would not purchase an xbone just for this game. It is quite addicting, though. Overall, multiplayer alone, I'd give it a 7/10.

It was a while ago, honestly having trouble remembering that one, but I'm sure I bought it. Can't really say, bc I can't remember the multiplayer maps. Though I'd venture that the maps probably are better in WWII, and the shotgun with incendiary shells is pretty fun. |

Love the campaign. Cant say anything about multiplayer since I havent played yet.
Planning on upgrading the Xone to the Xone X; it must be awesome in 4k.

I'm patiently waiting for PS to release a new system. I've had Xbox since the original, and a PS2 back in the day..., would rather get back into a PS this go around.

The x1x surpasses it from a technical standpoint though.

Both of these are just expansions on old models though. I'm speaking more in terms of PS5 or Xbox53XX or some shit. Why is it just expansion models competing now, is this the new generation of making an entire new label?

I'm not into MP aspect of games but the campaign is great. Still though I think World at War was the best COD game. Not a fan of the Soviets but the flag raising over the Reichstag was moving. And there was something that really struck a cord with me in the Heart of the Reich level as you approach the Reichstag and the music really sets in the mood of the brutality and hopelessness of combat.
This is the theme form that level. Melody starts at about 4min in. |

COD World at War was probably my favorite, WWII doesn't really have the same feel but it is fun. I bought it to play story mode and zombies, never been a huge fan of COD multiplayer since MW2.

I’m enjoying more than the last few editions. The best thing is that there are none of those fucking jet packs!
As others have mentioned there are a few glitches and the usual shit that seems to come with new editions but I think it is a reasonable attempt to get back to the old style. |

I must say i am disappointed. I gave the COD series a break after all of the jet packs. Bought battlefield 1 about a year ago and it is pretty awesome. Just bought COD WW2 to see if it would compare...and it does not. Small maps. Graphics are bad. Over-complicated. I will probably only play zombies

I think until there is a new medium that surpasses CD and is not available wirelessly, there won't be any huge breakthroughs. It just makes too much sense to upgrade to new technology while allowing backward capabilities (if they didn't I wouldn't have bought the X myself)

I guess I'm just getting antsy. I still have a 360, but clearly don't play it anymore as I'd like to upgrade, but can't justify spending the money on a PS4/Xbox One expansion if it'll only be a couple more years for a new gen. Have been playing Steam games again to get rid of the itch.
Gonna hold out, hopefully next gens will be a nice improvement, but like noted where else is there to go other than improved graphics.
