VS. C6 ZR1?
Morning,
I searched but came up blank. The 2010 era models seem to be coming down from their 100k original price to the 60-70 range. They come with ceramic brakes and seem to have a good history of reliability. From a driving experience I wonder how it compares to a M3/M4. I know the interior quality will be different but I was more focused on driving experience. Has anyone had one before or after an M car? Thanks, Nick |

I have never owned a Corvette however I did spend a week with a ZR1 in Scottsdale last year.
Interior fit and finish were nowhere near the F8X. External build quality, carbon fiber weave etc were all on par with BMW. The sound of the Zr1 was something else... and I really do mean something else. The power is overwhelming and addicting; I found the ZR1 had better traction than my M3 and the ability to put all of that power down. Honestly it depends what you are looking for, as a daily driver I prefer my M3. As a weekend rocket, a fully blacked out ZR1 is an absolute beast. |

Haven't lived with either, but the ZR1 is a blast to drive. It's an absolute rocket in a straight line. And it's actually quite docile too. It's a total pussycat if you want it to be. Plus, they are super easy to mod. Cam, pulley, tune and other bolt ons and they quickly become absolute monsters.
That said, I've never been terribly fond of how Corvettes feel in the twisty stuff. I've always thought them a little unwieldy, hard to place, and lacking in communication. I also wouldn't want to DD one with their compromises. Honestly, they are fun cars, but for something with similar character but a wider breadth of usability, I'd much rather have a V8 F Type. |

I had a 2011 ZR1 and now a 2018 M4 zcp. I have also owned 3 C6Z06's and still have one. The M4 has way better fit and finish. It is not even close. All my corvettes end ups with rattles and the interior is outdated. But if you want balls to the wall acceleration get the C6 ZR1. They make big power on very little mods(pulley, flex fuel, and tune). They also hook very good with a 345 drag radial. Both cars handle extremely well in the twisties. The corvette is a little harder to drive to its full potential. I would not want to DD the ZR1 as I do with my M4. They both have there advantages and can't go wrong with either. I have seen ZR1's in the 50K range lately
