Support for GTS/ZCP related coding

Hi guys,

Hope I don't get banned because of this post

I seen this section of the forum being supported to help us newbie or people that want to learn and share how to code or flash our car.

I am surprise to see when it come to GTS TCU, Diff, and Steering are such a popular topic. it become business opportunity, the instruction cannot be share.... which is disappointing.

I have to agree, no expert in identify all this coding or how to, which I would think this is what this forum is about.

Feel free to disagree as I am just trying to figure out the reason behind this as I love to DIY but not able to find all the requirement to do this....

Ex. I can see we can VO code GTS steering to reduce the dead zone issue which I am interested But there are no full information of what to do

1. Change the chassis to F82 GTS
2. VO code --> But I am not sure which module to VO code.
3. any chance we know which value has changed so that after VO code, we can verify to make sure it has been coded successful

Sorry in advance if i will disappoint anyone, but just sharing my thoughts

Thanks
Gilbert

for GTS steering it's my understanding that you need to FA code Typenschlüssel = 4S93 / entwicklungbaureihe = F082 then VO code EPS. i have not done this myself as i don't feel i have enough seat time in my 2018 zcp. someone can correct me if i am wrong.

Interested as well. Experienced on coding but finding info for all gts coding in searches has not produced much information.

Change Chassis to F082 (not GTS).
Change Typecode to US or EU version of M4 GTS
EPS - Steering
GHAS - Differential
VDC - EDC

Thanks at least we have information on Steering, diff and EDC hahah

I guess the GTS TCU is more steps as it needs to be software flash, but hoping there are more insight on this hehehe

Gonna try to do the diff and steering tonight and see if there are any difference

One more stupid question, as my car is F80 and still under warranty

I wonder if it is possible that I do the changes to F082 and VO code those module.

When I am done, and I just edit the FA again back to F80 and save it. Will i still keep the previous VO module coded to the GTS.

was thinking if this can be done, it save my hassle when i bring my car into service

Why do you need to edit FA again? Just do not write VO changes to VCM and it will appear factory when "Read FA."

Great, i was looking for someone to do all these for me as I do not know what was involved. For HK and Macao I believe Typenschlüssel should be 4S92 (All asia F8x have 2 at the end), Euro being 4S91 and US being 4S93.

TCU = DSC

Meaning what remains is DSC + ICM + ABS (Needs flashing?)

hmm, is it safe to say that there is no need to ever write to VCM as long as i am working off a modified and loaded FA?

i was under the impression that when i VO code that it uses the file that is written to VCM, am i wrong in thinking this?

Not sure. I only ever flashed EGS. The rest I just VO coded.

Correct. Just use modified and loaded FA. If you write to VCM, especially something like this, you will have trouble when going to dealership or accidentally VO coding wrong modules (eg, DME).

I'm assuming that you first need to be updated to the latest I-step, or at least the first one that included ZCP, in order for the coding to actually work. Am I wrong?

I believe DSC is Traction control.

Modify fa (Change type code to gts, change build date to 0717) , write modified fa, then code above modules, write original non gts fa back.

For DCT you need to flash, I already did that via bootmod3.
