LED Headlight Initialisation/Installation
I'm hoping someone can provide some guidance--I replaced an LED headlight on an F80 that had modules that were not original to the car. When I attempted to run the Initialisation procedure in ISTA, I was getting the "process aborted" or whatever the notification is when it cannot complete the procedure. At this point, the headlight stayed dark.
However, I was then able to use E-Sys to check things out, and determined that the CAFD files in the 2 affiliated ECUs were missing. Using this board (thanks guys!) I was able to "code" them into their respective ECUs and viola! The headlights worked! Or so I thought... So now, I have headlights that turn with the steering wheel and generally seem to work well. However, the turn signal will not initialize, and I have a headlight whose angel eyes and turn signal won't work. In trying to utilize the diagnostic capabilities of ISTA, it appears that my working (LH) turn signal is getting about 350 mA of power, whereas the RH isn't getting any (bounces from 0 to 1). Does this indicate anything, or is it because it's not being permitted to get power because of a software issue. This seems more plausible to me, because during the initialisation procedure, the side lamp will light up, so it doesn't appear to be a physical fault. Please help! Thanks, Bill |
