How to check the car software version?
Soon Im bringing my car to the 1200 miles service.
I understand that sometime they update the car to the latest sw version. How can I tell what is my current SW version (2018 F80)? thanks!

Export your profile from idrive to a USB stick. You can download programs that can read the data from the stick straight from windows store easily.

You don't need any fancy downloaded programs, any text editor works, even as simple as notepad etc... in windows can open and read the file.
You can also ask your SA for a key data print when you drop off the car and another one when you pick it up. Your key also stores this info and will be printed along with a few pages of diagnostic data and version numbers. |

So, here is the exported profile file (deleted security and crypto key info),
The only field that says something about a version is saying "Version 1" This doesn't look like a software version. What am I doing wrong? <bmwExportData> <signedContent> <header> <date>2017-09-12T14:16:13</date> <version>1</version> <username>ARIE</username> <vin>XXXXXXX</vin> <i-step>F020-17-07-503</i-step> </header> <body> <securityContainer type="vehicle" securityLevel="1"> x x x x x </securityContainer> </body> </signedContent> <signature>xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx</signature> </bmwExportData>
