Quick ISTA-D Rheingold User Question

So I finally got around to installing this software and have been working my way through the software - which is a typical BMW non-intuitive GUI IMHO, but I digress.... . After looking at some of the FAQ docs I could find on the software, I did not find what I was looking for and so far I have not been able to figure this out....

Is there a way to only clear the faults in one ECU while still being able to see the faults for that single ECU? I know how to show the ECU wire diagram, which tells you which ECUs have faults stored. I know how to show the list of all faults stored. I know how to clear all faults at once (which I don't want to do). I know how to clear the faults of a single ECU - but I can't see those specific faults before I clear them.

But what I can't seem to figure out is to list ONLY the faults in one ECU and then only clear the faults for that ECU. There are quite a few faults I have stored in my car, most of them seem harmless at first glance since they are all "soft" faults and I don't have any CELs or other warnings. I don't want to just clear all of the faults at once, I want to only clear them one ECU at a time.

If I look at the list of all faults, it is difficult (for me anyway) to tell which faults are associated with a single ECU. I am sure there is a way to do what I am trying to do, but I am missing something in the GUI. So can you ISTA-D experts offer some advice? Thanks!

You’re right, BMW GUIs are not intuitive... but a little exploring can help too on Control Unit Tree screen, select desired ECU, bottom row, “Call up ECU functions”, then delete fault memory is in one of the three tabs. Have fun.

Yeah, I found that command while poking around. But what I didn't like was the fact that I could not see a list of the specific faults of the ECU I was deleting if I used that method to clear them. When I went back to the master list of all of the faults I had a hard time correlating which faults were specifically tied to an ECU.

So I am guessing there is no way to display ECU fault data the way I would prefer (and what seems like an efficient way to do it) before I clear any faults ??
