No surprise seeing AMG being the quickest.

Looks like the M4 was pulling away from the RS5 on the roll race. That's so typical of Audi; losing when a race isn't from a dig.

Another stupid test from a British rag. The rolling race should have been done in manual mode in the most optimal gear for each car. For instance, rolling race from 60mph, I would have the M4 in 2nd gear. Otherwise, it becomes more of a test of which transmission is fastest to kick-down. Pretty pointless IMO.

Well, so it appears that the AMG transmission was quicker to jump down than the BMW's DCT.

Not only quicker, but also potentially puts the engine in a better powerband. At 60mph, the DCT most likely downshifted to 3rd, putting the S55 at ~4400RPM, well out of its power band.

The C63 would likely still win the pull since it has the best power-to-weight ratio of the 3 cars, but I think the distance margin would be significantly less.

They did a previous drag QF/C63S/M3 showing the M3 beating the C63S, in this new one there was .5 sec between the three all of which is nothing if anything other than on a drag strip.

The rolling drag is what you'd expect those M ponies pulling harder than Ingolstadt's but the boys from Affalterbach put another 60 in there and that's going to make a difference on a roll.

RS5 is going to be a beast at the strip, with those awd launches. Modding will be interesting with the hot v turbo placement, easy turbo swaps. I am sure APR is already working on upgraded turbos.

As I posted earlier, the rolling test in this video is more about how each transmission downshifts in auto mode. Pointless.

Not sure about that, many people would be in auto mode on a motorway rather than "on it" in 2nd ready to grab 3rd etc...

They are all quick cars with strengths and weaknesses not sure why people try and pull these "just for a bit of fun" videos apart as they're not research papers printed in the lancet.

Because they are not representative of real world conditions and are just made to grab internet clicks.

I almost never drive in D. As any good driver would, if I need to accelerate briskly, I will ensure my drivetrain is the most optimal gear before punching it, just like in a manual.

You don't think that 3 automatic cars using kick down is representative? Come on.

My boss has never used S mode in his M4, he asked me what I was doing when he was in my M3.

This test represents the real world street racer boy scenario. Driver "skill" falls behind right foot testosterone when the threat from the competing model is in the next lane.

From what I see that you dont have a C63 or M4! I suggest you go try the C63 S first! It is super responsive and got 700 NM or torque down below once the car moves you cannot ignore that extra torque and the 503 BHP!

it is stock

The C63S still has a lower weight to HP ratio, that is if you're a firm believer in the manufacturers claimed numbers.

Is Mercedes also conservative with the numbers they claim like BMW? or do they deliver less HP than claimed in the real world? We know that BMW usually underrates the claimed BHP and it can actually give more in the real world.

I believe some have seen it go up to 470-480 BHP

Your testament is incorrect! I didn't mention the DCT or talked about the transmission. My friend I drive and test drive all cars all times...

Also I own an M4, not reading what others think or say than make my statements!

The Germans are notorious for low claimed figures. Take the 991 Turbo (non S) for example. With 540 bhp and the same weight as an F8x, it traps close to 130 mph.

Someone at my office just got a new RS5 and man does it look great - very sleek for sure. I was surprised, having not seen one in person for a long time, but I really like the way it sits. The interior looks really nice as well.

Hopefully I can figure out who it belongs to, and have some friendly pulls with my F80.
