Interior Removal

Hi All,
Continuing my weight reduction program a little at a time and looking for some DIY help. Rear seats, trunk lining, insulation and floor mat are out. Need some advice for the next couple of items .
1. Rear seat belt removal - Any watch outs on these so as to avoid setting off codes with the wiring etc?
2. Trunk - very straightforward removal EXCEPT for the styrofoam tray for the mobility kit. Once I remove the nuts all around it does not just lift out - there seems to be something else holding it in place. I'm reluctant to just keep pulling for fear I'm going to break something else. Same question - Any tips or tricks here?

Nothing about the rear seat belts, they are not electronically connected to the car in an e92/e93 like they are in some sedans.

The rear trunk insert has a few screws from underneath that attach the exhaust heat shielding. It will be difficult to get to with the exhaust in place. You'll need to also remove those. The issue with that is then you'll have to fabricate some type of supports for those heat shields unless you remove them altogether. The tray weighs next to nothing. Not worth the hassle of removing for weight loss, unless you're removing it for some other reason...

You save almost as much weight just removing the bolts holding it down in the trunk as you do removing the tray, and the tray also helps keep exhaust gas out of the cabin...

Thanks to both of you on the Reply and saves me chasing down the schematics. Also agree on the negligible weight savings. It will stay put.

Part of the goal was to maintain something of a flat surface while I'm still driving to the track and need to put things in the trunk. (planning on trailer end of year or next year).

Interim solution I'm going to try is pictured from Hard Motorsport.
