Sell M3 or M2?
Hey folks,
2015 M3 ( 2014 Feb build ) MDCT This car was originally from Germany and it was exported to Taiwan. It is fully loaded except the steering wheel warmer, rear seat warmer and the ceramic. I picked her up with 7225 miles 6 months ago. Currently I have 9200 miles. It has been flawless. It is not a local car so I don't have any warranty. 2017 M2 ( 2016 Aug build ) MDCT I waited 11 months until this baby M arrived, I picked her up 5 months ago and the current mileage is 1100 miles. It was build exact the way I wanted and it is a local BMW car so I get 3 years warranty. M3: more appealing stance more luxuries options more expensive look and feel more pratical faster once over 60miles/h you can't beat Yas Marina Blue doesn't sound good even with Akrapovic Evo while I am inside the car M2: more fun to drive i like the nimbleness i like the body control it sounds better than M3/M4's S55 ( stock ) if M2 is my only car, it feels too kiddish imo i dislike the cheap plastic i like it because I bought it brand new M3 Mods list: MP steering wheel MP kidney grill MP rear spoiler MP floor mats F/R MP side grill and badge MP splitter MP side blades with decals MP diffuser LCi tail lights Akrapovic Evolution w/ carbon tips TWS 20” PSS Eibach Springs No mods on M2 any feedbacks would be appreciated! Keep the M3. M2's will be a dime a dozen in the next 3 years.

Hard decision, but I'd keep the one with the warranty...

I like to go by the regret-o-meter. For example, if you kept the M2 and saw a Yas M3 on the street, how much would you regret it? If you kept the M3 instead, would you regret your decision seeing someone else in their M2?
I don't know your particular situation, but I suspect the regret factor will be larger if you let go of the M3. Go with your gut. |

As far as which one to keep, I prefer the M3, but I also prefer new cars with a warranty. I agree with others, it is a tough choice. How does the resale value of each compare there?

I just did a search, M2's price will definitely be better since there aren't many around. It is still fairly new and there are still quite a lot of folks who are still on the waiting list.

Sounds like M3 is the winner here as we know the M2 hype is not going to last forever. Maybe with the difference you can seek some type of a warranty (don't know the options there) or just set some aside and "self-insure" against future repairs. The M3 is definitely nicer, faster, and more practical on top of that. Good luck either way!

Sell them both an get yourself an Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio in you want something more exotic and exclusive. Pretty fantastic car!
If you prefer to remain a loyal to BMW owner, keep the M3. It's a better overall car. The M2 is fun, but just not in the same league. It really isn't! The M3 can be just as nimble if you manhandle it more. It needs to be driven harder to get peak performance out of the platform. |

If those were my cars, I would sell both and get the M4 2018 LCI. The best of both worlds, has all the luxury features which you miss from the M2, IS more powerful than the M2 especially if you go with the Competition Pack, and with the LCI updates, looks better. |

These comparison threads posted on both competitors' boards make me laugh. Who would've thought biased responses would reign supreme? OP, go with your gut. Screw everyone else.
