It's still strange that alfa romeo decided to not deliver on a manual in the US.
Over here in europe an automatic is still associated with luxury, premium and a bonus over a manual, because everybody here learned how to drive in old small cars, all with manuals. But in the US a manual is slowly considered to be a bonus as more involving, more sportier. Like why the e60 M5 was available with a manual only in the US. But hey, its alfa, so there's bound to be some management mistakes to be made... Could be that the manual has slightly higher emissions, giving problems in California.

Problem with the Alfa is that it's interior is more befitting of a competitor to the E90 than the F30, it's reliability will be horrid, and residuals will be in the tank.
I'd surely like to drive one, but there's no denying a beautiful Yas Marina Blue ///M3 is heads and shoulders the superior all-around car. I don't care what MT has to say because they have no credibility. They raved over the ATS and CTS yet sales have been in the tank their entire production runs (they can't even hit 800 units/month lmao). It took a couple years, but only now is MT discussing the Caddys' pitfalls whether it be shoddy transmissions, mediocre engines, mediocre interiors, etc. |

M3 Competition vs Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio by Motortrend
Considering Motortrend is equivalent to fox news...
They couldn't get Randy Pobst to show how dominating the Alfa is with its aggressive R compound tires over the M3 with its street tires... The Quadrifoglio is an amazing vehicle. Lovely engine indeed. But even that 3 year gap can't dethrone the King of its class. |

Just watched the video. Alfa is lovely but the M3 still rules. Put on the same tires and the gap widens. So much for the 505hp. But I am glad the Alfa exists- Because BMW knows that competition is catching up and they will have to make a product that truly stands out again in this segment.

I got love for both vehicles. But to compare a car on track with a tread rating of 60 vs 200. It's not really a good comparison, apples to oranges if you ask me. I love competition it just means the future vehicles have to be that much better. I'm not a BMW fanboy, I want to love the Alfa or some other make as much if not more than the M3. It's just that companies now are just starting to catch up, but no one is truly dethroning the M3 haha. There are "pros" in a lot of sport sedans of different makes, but the all around car is still the M3.
And anyone care to explain how the Alfa pulled off a "13 second" faster Nurburgring time than the M3. But so far in every track battle comparison the M3 is dead even, if not faster than the Alfa? That's a serious question, not trying to be condescending at all haha. JD Last edited by JDE92M3; 03-13-2017 at 11:57 PM.. |

Honestly, does whoever sets the fastest ring time really matter to you in your everyday life? I highly doubt it. Don't miss out on a chance to check out a great car in the Quadrafoglio based on some yet to be determined ring test by one magazine. Is their opinion going to dictate your life and reverse the positive reviews of countless other reviewers and former M3 owners that have already jumped into a Quadrafoglio? Do you think we would gone from reasonable M3 leases into expensive purchases if the car was not more entertaining and capable???

It looks like a Pontiac and a Lexus had sex with each other, and this is what came out.

Personally, I think it's sexy and you cant deny that performance. I'm glad to see AR back into the NA market as strong as this...competition is a good thing!
I was going to say if they used a non-CP M3, the gap could have been greater.....but I don't want to open that can of worms as this thread is about the Gulia!

Not sure what to believe anymore because the Giulia beat the M3 in the first multicar comparo. This is like the 2nd or 3rd track test by MT of the two cars.
