Would you consider the rumored but not confirmed Jaguar XE SVR?

Jaguar is rumored to be preparing a 500HP V8 powered XE SVR to rival the M3 and the C63. Would you consider buying one if they build it?

Yes, if I am in the market for a car once it exists. However I like to lease and expect it will be ruled out almost immediately upon consideration and seeing lease numbers.

Nah. I'm too much of a german fanboy to consider that as an option.

Lease: BMW is king (only car I would lease outside of BMW is an S550).

Buy: Porsche = Benz > Audi

Jags love to depreciate.

this is the car i really wanted to buy over the m3, but i don't believe it'll happen anytime soon

f-pace v8, be it R or SVR, is already on the road under development, but we haven't seen an XE spotted

the XE is already at an advantage with its alu chassis, double wishbone front end, and more advanced rear suspension architecture. that platform is crying out for a proper sport sedan version

I don't know. I'm sort of underwhelmed by the interior and overall feel and look of the XE. I don't think that the 3-series interior is that great, but like-for-like it seems a lot nicer than the XE's.

Exactly. A hotter XE has been rumored for years, but no test vehicles that could be linked to such a product exist. Truly vaporware.

I think front of the car will be super heavy with 5.0 Supercharged V8 that they are using everywhere, so i think if they will create it, XE will be more strait line runner then Track Toy

It'll be a good Track Toy if the track is a drag strip.

the supercharged v6 is the same physical dimension as the v8, so the weight difference is essentially a pair of rods and pistons

since nobody is complaining about the front end weight of the v6 in XE now, in fact every journo praises it a significant step above a comparable 340, it won't be an issue in the v8

As I have heard people complaining about Tracking F-Type R with V8, and it i understeer because front is too heavy

as an owner of an f-type v8, i have never felt anything even approaching under steer, instant throttle response + rwd + torque vectoring i just can't see it happening, nor have i even seen any journo complain about it

Hammer into a slow to medium speed slower corner too fast and naturally you’ll expect the F-Type to push into understeer. But it doesn’t - the inside brakes lightly engage in torque vectoring trickery, tucking in the nose and vanquishing understeer. Even if you cheekily pick up the throttle a little too early, it still keeps the nose tucked in nicely

look where the engine is mounted relative to front wheels, these are not Audi's
