New car Paint protection?
Third car in a row I have politely declined the dealer option for paint protection. Anyone doing anything on fresh paint?

This makes cleaning easier, and makes the paint a bit swirl resistant for around 3-5 years depending on the product. This is different from the dealer's paint sealer. |

You can get it on the wheels too. Makes brake dust easy to high-pressure hose off.
Try Dans Garage Detailing. http://dansgaragedetailing.com

The paint on your brand new car will need to be corrected before applying anything. It will likely have scratches, swirls, halo's, etc from the factory - or at the very least from the first wash your dealer does. Paint protection film comes after the paint correction is done, followed by paint protection. Alternatively you skip the film and go straight to the paint protection, which should also cover your wheels and interior (using appropriate products for each).
I've not wrapped a car before, though I am considering it for the M3. I have however paint protected (and interior, wheels, windscreen) my last 3. It will not stop swirls or scratches, don't kid yourself. You must still follow a strict 2 bucket cleaning regime. It will likely need to be re-applied within 2 years.

Realllllly. It'll likely have 1 wash from PD before I get it, and I wouldn't think the wash-bay boys at Melbourne BMW will be using Brillo pads. What have you paid to the dealer for "protection" over the years? Did you get it back in trade or resale? This will be somewhere near my 10th new car, not one has suffered in resale for paint. Example: last X5 was sold for nearly half it's new price, nearly 5 years old! Beat that!

I went with Brilla paint protection on the alpine white competition pack and I really couldn't ask for a better end result. Washed it once since I've had it back from the detailer and the dirt and grime just rolled off.
After not having paint protection on a number of cars over the years, I'll definitely be applying this again |

Get a good paint correction detail followed by a clear film. Xpel, suntek not 3M
That way you get stone chip scratch protection and very easy cleaning. With a film you can snow foam and then wash easily and quickly. No water marks at all if you want to let it dry in the sun. Dries clean. Love my film. |

hi guys
i'm new to this forum and picked up an M3 less than a week ago! i'm finding it hard to sleep at night because of the urge to just go on a drive i've seen things like ceramic paint protection, where the coating is very hydrophobic i would very much like to have this sort of thing done to the car, and was wondering if anyone knew someone in sydney that provides this kind of service thanks in advance |
