Picked up a Macan today
Time has come to buy a car for my wife since we sold her car a month ago. As some of you know I had made a thread where I was looking for a 3rd vehicle. Well, I was debating from Ftype R to 981 Cayman S. However, my wife's glk got sold unexpectedly, we decided to go for either sedan or SUV.
Great quality vehicle! After I test drive Macan, I was sold right away. It hasn't even been 24h yet so its hard to give a good review on it. Well, its not that fastest but it is very good enough for what it is. My wife and I were happy with it and I am very pleased with it. I am already seeing myself in the macan most of the time than my m3 lol. It is that great! Last edited by Yvette; 10-23-2016 at 01:51 AM.. |

Thanks for the kind words everyone!
We went with base. They had this black/red combo I liked in their lot. No S model is available, they are all sold out. You would order now and pick one up in Feb I was told. We did not want to wait, as we need 2nd vehicle fast. The base has plenty power for street driving, the mpg is great, another reason I am happy with. I would go base w/ more options than S with limited options if that is I was given a budget. Insurance rate was also cheaper than S. If macan was only my vehicle, I would have went with S though. |

Congrats man, I think the Macan is the most desirable and best looking compact sport utility on the market right now.

Glad you enjoy your new ride!
I had sat in one before I got my m235. too many buttons! I test drove one a few weeks ago, a base model I think. Lacks the "GO NOW" rush you get when punching it, even in all the sport modes possible. No doubt the top end models get back to a rush quality, but then $$$. Now I do have my short term dream sights on a boxster or a cayman, mmm... darn you m235 why are you so perfect for a single car

I've been eyeballing these lately, myself. Unfortunately the wife just bought a new RAV4 Limited and it doesn't make sense to trade up and take a hit on the new car. I've seen CPO'd Macan's in the low $40's.

Congrats on the Macan, looks lovely.
Why did you get rid of it? Was it a base or S? |

Not sure if being sarcastic but all Macans are turbocharged.
To the OP, congratulations on your new Macan!

My brother has an S. Damn, it's very good looking in almost every angle. Interior is very nice too (well, I don't like how there are too many buttons but everything feels great). It's stout and stable in STRONG windy rain something I wish my car is. The whole car just feels like a jumbo version of my 135 except for the PDK...
Oh boy, the PDK is a thing sent from the heavens. Smoother than the smoothest torque converter automatics I've driven but still as aggressive and sporty as my car's DCT. That said, congrats OP. You have an amazing vehicle. |
