where to buy helmets around NYC?

Want to buy a helmet is there somewhere close to NYC (where I work) or westchester (where I live) I can go and try some lids on? Ordering online seems convenient but I have no idea what size / shape fits me well...

Also I wear glasses, is there particular models that suit that well?
