2B13 Speed Registration error code - how to find source

I've been getting the 2B13 Speed Registration error code almost daily for the past week....really annoying. How do I find what is causing it so I can correct it? Below is the freeze frame details from the scan. I'm guessing it's tied to Fault-set 3 because of the 0.00 Volt reading, but what/where is that? Thanks.

Found Faults:
--Engine / Motor--
*** 2B13:Speed-registration ***
Fault-Set 1 - ( 139982 mi)
actual gear: 55.00 Gang
Battery voltage KL87: 23296.00 Volt
Engine speed: 30976.00 U/min
Hinterachsgeschwindigkeit: 0.00 mph

Fault-Set 2 - ( 141255 mi)
actual gear: 0.00 Gang
Battery voltage KL87: 22016.00 Volt
Engine speed: 26880.00 U/min
Hinterachsgeschwindigkeit: 0.00 mph

Fault-Set 3 - ( 2540 mi)
actual gear: 0.00 Gang
Battery voltage KL87: 0.00 Volt
Engine speed: 0.00 U/min
Hinterachsgeschwindigkeit: 0.00 mph

Would be much more helpful if the freezeframe data had any accuracy to it.

Right...gear, voltage, engine speed are not accurate. But shouldn't Fault-set 1/2/3 all be pretty close? So Fault-set 3 is very different from the others. Does this indicate anything?

Is this something that could be catastrophic to the engine if I don't fix immediately? I'm guessing no since it would likely go into limp mode first, which it hasn't yet.

It's annoying more than anything so I will probably take it to a local shop but if I could easily fix it myself that would be better.

Closing the loop on this, I replaced the battery weeks ago and have had no codes since so the low battery appears to be the cause. The support team at Carly for BMW confirmed this would be the cause as well.

Interesting, so what voltage did you measure on the old battery TS?

Voltage on the original battery as measured by the Carly wifi fob on the iphone app scan showed it was 13.7V off to 14.1V with engine running, so not low enough for me to immediately believe it was time to replace. After a week or so of the same error every day, I finally replaced the battery. No errors since so it seems it was due.

So your measure didnt seem to indicate that the battery was low (no battery warning?), did the dealer tell you it needed to be replaced, based on what? Just curious.

No low battery warning light, but the voltage measurement was close to the lower end indicating replacement. Startups were OK but not as crisp as when new.

When there wasn't a good explanation for the chronic 2B13 error and further reading on the forums indicated that low battery voltage can cause these types of otherwise untraceable errors - I also had a front right TPMS error the prior month and replaced both front TPMS sensors - I decided it was time to replace the battery. I now think the TPMS error was really the car battery, not the TPMS battery. No problems since and my voltage when off is now higher.

So it was either coincidental that it was the car battery, or it was really the culprit. The fact that there have been no errors of any kind, much less unexplained errors, tells me it was the battery. Especially when I've never in 6 years had electrical problems - chronic or otherwise - on this car. And startups are now as crisp/quick as when the car was new. As a bonus, BMW had a promotion on batteries and having the dealer replace it was better than if I had done the work myself.
