New X-Owner

Hey All,

Just want to drop in and say hi. Not new to BMW's, but we've never had an X Series. Hell, just ordered one Saturday and still haven't even driven one.

We went in to sign the paperwork for our M4 with our first ED, and not quite sure how it happened exactly, but we ordered one.

We had a good time trying to quickly build and order it. I think just the thought of the .9% rate going away was too much to risk by dragging our feet.

Left with a production number, and now I'm going back and forth trying to decide if I should change anything. Heck, not even sure if I can come tomorrow. I was given the impression these are built and delivered quickly.

So anyhow, hi.

Congrats! You've made a good choice IMHO!

And yes they can be built quickly if the dealer has a production slot available. I ordered on a Monday and it was built by the following Monday and at the dealer within two weeks. So if you want to change anything I recommend doing it quickly.

It seems this is the case, we leave the 18th for Munich, return the 29th. He said the X will be here waiting for you.

Impressive, it'll be almost 5 months till my M4 gets to me. I'm just happy I'll have something to clean and mess with in the down time.

Just trying to decide:

Drop HK, and add B&O (never even heard it).
OR
Keep HK and add M exhaust and MPPK.

Congrats on your purchase! I just picked mine up on Saturday and LOVE it. I lucked out and got a build that was done by my local dealership and had exactly what I wanted and the color combo I wanted. Post your color combo and options and again, congrats!!!

Nice build! Call your client assistant tomorrow first thing and see if you can change the wheels/tires. Enjoy!

I assume you ordered a 35i. If it were my build I would do M sport,
HK, DHP, MPE and MPPK.

Quite a nice stable with the f82(or f83 convertible) and the f15

What's your interior?

I'm concerned silver over white will be too much .. that's why at the very least we did the Ivory and Black, not the Napa Leather .. that had color keyed carpets, that was absolutely too much, for our personal taste.

It is a 35 .. what's DHP? Hate to ask .. but I'm on a short time constraint.

1st M4 was just extended black leather.
New one is full silverstone.

DHP is the torque vectoring/anti roll with adaptive M suspension (air suspension)

I myself didn't get it on my 50i, but regret doing so. Others on the forum can attest that it is a worthwhile option, even with the $4k price tag.

At the very minimum, if you don't select the DHP option for $4k, I would suggest to definitely do the M adaptive susp which has a price tag of $900 I believe. But if you could, I would do the DHP which has both above mentioned in price.

I know... I just cannot do it all. This M4 build took a lot out of us.
This will be the wife's DD.. So, limited here. We agreed on $65-70k.. That's where we are, but I wanna try and sneak something in..

After all, she can drive the M4 any day she wants, as can I (I have another DD).. And we are not concerned about miles.. And it's no garage queen. Heck the 15' M4 racked up 17,200 miles in 10 months, modded quite decently too.

So, this needs be sweet.. But not the fastest or most dynamic handling x5.

She does love the sound, so I think best bet is to sneak in the exhaust & MPPK.

You don't even need adaptive M. It's included in the DHP. Coming from a CTS-V, I don't feel like I miss a thing...

No, V8 and DHP is sufficient. Although, a disclaimer. I can't own anything with less that 8 cylinders.
