dome light for radar detector power?

anyone hard wire their radar detector into power at the top of the car, such as with the dome light? i assume there is no issue, just wanted to confirm.

Since the dome light is switched and off while driving, you wouldn't want it to feed your detector. Buy a mirror tap and feed it off your rear view mirror. https://store.blendmount.com/storefront.aspx

I used the power tap as well, popped off mirror cover, and tap power and ground. 5 min job.
