For those who have MPBK installed and have a spare tire, have you actually tried to install the 18" spare tire and did it fit and clear the front brake calipers?

I am planning to buy the MPBK but wanted to make sure I can still use my spare tire since I have non-RFT.

I believe the MPBK requires 19's to clear it from what I remember.

I have MPBK and as @stewy604 mentioned minimum clearance is 19". I believe the emergency spare from an f85/86 should work.

I've been thinking about this. I was wondering if I got a blow out up front with my MPBK and since my factory spare doesn't fit over the brakes, could i just move one of my rear wheels up front (20" or 22") then put the factory spare in the back? Its more work but wondering if this is even possible.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. It is more work, but considering the alternatives of flatbed or dropping $400 or so for the f85 e-spare, I'd do the extra labor.

I am trying to avoid buying a 19" spare. I saw a 19" spare alloy wheel for X5M (36116775450) at realoem.com costing about $350. As for the 19" donut tires itself, still have to looks since the size is not common. In summary, this might be an additional cost of $500 for 19" spare tire set.

I was hoping that the original 18" spare would clear the calipers since the width is narrow, offset might be different, no balancing weights inside and material is made of thinner steel instead of alloy.

Alan, I also was thinking of moving the rear wheels up front also but am worried about rubbing (staggered setup). If you have time to "experiment" with your setup, would greatly appreciate your feedback. Thanks
