Oil change cost.

Didn't see too much in a search...

I'm due for my first, post-warranty, oil change. What do these normally run? Dealer initially told me $250, but said he may be able to help.

What the hell is he putting in for so cheap? When I was working at an indie, doing my own car with LM 10W-60 Racetech + a filter was about $90 CAD my cost.

This guy is legit. My water pump went out on my 335 last year, dealer quoted me $1800 and he did it for $890. Does good work and great customer service.

I did one on a 335 for about the same. That's about 15% on supplier cost + labour. If he did the T-stat too that is.

$117 for 9 bottles of OEM oil and an OEM filter. You can back out how much they're charging for labor.

I switched to M1 0-40 and my changes are now $65 with filter. (i didn't switch due to costs of oil changes, but due to, well you know......)

how are they doing it for $110 when oil itself is at least $11 per bottle and you need 9 of them. I would question what they're using. Unless you mean your indy is charging you $110 just for labor if you bring your own parts.... IMO that's way too expensive for an oil change.

Markert Motorworks in Lawrenceville. I have also heard good things about Solo Motorsports, but I've never been there.

I don't think these Indy shops (especially reputable ones) pay what we pay for a bottle(s) of oil. They buy at whole sale which I'm sure is much cheaper. This is probably how some of them are able to charge customers a much lower rate then BMW dealerships.

Solo is awesome. I've used them a few times. My Indy is in Alpharetta: Specialty Repair, they only do BMs and Mercs.

No problem, ask for Rob if he's there, very cool guy. Tell him Alex with the white E92 sent you.

I was an indie... Paying wholesale cost on oil... And those prices are fucky. But car stuff is a bit cheaper in America vs Canada.

The problem is most shops don't want to stock a 205L drum of 10W-60, it's next to useless unless you get at least 3 M's a day.
