AFE 54-31662 Magnum FORCE Stage-2 Pro 5R Intake System; BMW M3 (E9X) 08-13 V8-4.0L

"This Stage 2 air intake system produces 12 max horsepower, 9 lbs. x ft. torque and out-flowed the factory intake by 41%. This unique intake system is designed to use the factory intake box to seal the intake tube and filter and tube against unwanted underhood temperatures while increasing air flow and velocity for optimum performance. This air intake system features a washable/reusable conical Pro 5R air filter for maximum flow and filter life, a dyno tuned intake tube and all the hardware necessary for an easy installation. This system is truly a silent killer."

Selling my lightly used AFE Stage 2 Intake w/ Pro 5R oiled filter. Perfect fitment. Noticeable difference in induction sound. Manufacturer claims 12 hp / 9 lb-ft increase. Filter is in excellent condition - I just cleaned and oiled it with a K&N Recharger kit so original blue color is gone and the filter is now a pinkish color (color of the K&N oil). Includes all components. Original box and documentation available upon request (will have to find them in storage).

It might be a dumb question, but why's it called stage 2 intake system? What's the "stage 2"?

I believe Stage 1 would involve filter only. This includes filter and elbow.
