I've watched just about every E92 M3 on YouTube when I ordered mine back in May '13. One of my fav were those that did ED which had I knew I'd have done the same.

"To bring it to the limit and control it at the limit".
That's exactly why I enjoy the E92 M3. Other cars may be faster but they're either not controllable at their limits (M4 boosted torque variations in a sharp turn after a long straight at high speed is a nightmare), other cars the computer overrides the driver's inputs much before the car reaches its limits (GT-R) and while you can turn that off, the car is not drivable at the limit without it. In the E92 M3 there is that sense of still being in control all the way to the limit of the car. Last edited by LIMITLESS_M3; 06-25-2015 at 12:28 PM.. |

What's after an M3? Either another M3 or an F1. These cars are amazing and sexy. I bought mine not long ago and since then I haven't used my antidepressant pills anymore!!!! Lol

Every catch the GTR documentary? It's fantastic also. "Anyone who tells me a good car has low power to weight ratio is an amateur"

It's good and I lused to like them but M3's are addictive. Actually I heard in the black news that it's being categorized as a sickness!!!! Believe it or not. I haven't heard of this until now!!!! Lol. There should be a treatment for this out there. Have you heard about the guy that sneaked in the dealership to sleep with his queen? That's how bad it could get.

I think Nissan failed to meet their original goal with the GT-R: A mass produced affordable supercar. When it first came out in 2010 (11?) it was priced accordingly (just a bit more than an M3 at $75k base price) but now it's $100k+ base price and above. So it's just another super-expensive car, it may be fast but gone is the argument about it being affordable talked in this video. And the argument about it being faster than more expensive cars is loosing terrain as making speed and power is getting less and less difficult to achieve nowadays and overall quality of the car and driving fun factor are becoming more important. Not areas where the GT-R is particularly good at.
I'm glad you posted this video, the chief nissan engineer says he attempted to create a car that anybody without driving skills can drive to 300 km/h on any road. Making the driver a super driver without him having the skills. That sounds like a good thing, but it's not, actually it's becoming the GT-R flaw. Being able to control a performance car at the limit without computer interfering and overruling the driver intentions is not what the GT-R offers. Sure you can turn off the computer assistance in any car. But without it the GT-R is not a car with a chassis that gives the driver the same level of feedback than a porsche or even a e92 M3 and so cannot be driven at its GT-R limits. Something an E92 M3 is much better at, and all Porsches 911. So personally while i was amazed at the GT-R in 2010, it has become a less and less appealing car proposition to me. Mainly it does not have the design approach to make it a car for a skilled driver that is looking for the fun of controlling a car at its limit. Again, from the chief engineer's own words, its a car that takes care of that magic for the everyday driver. I'd much rather have a car that i can enjoy controlling at the limit, than a faster car that takes too much away from the driver and when you turn all those nannies off has supbar feedback and predictability compared to a 911 or e92 m3. That's mainly due to it being boosted and 4WD. At the limit no boosted 4WD car can approach the controllability (and fun that comes with it) of RWD NA. P.S. and that pitfall holds for the boosted M4 also. Although BMW tried to cling to RWD and high revving, they're both incompatible with turbo and as a result the car is some kind of bastard son that is not good in either domain : gets trampled by a GT-R in sheer acceleration due to lack of 4WD and lacks the NA true high rev range benefits of the E92 M3. I think next year I may pick up a GT-R to give my M3 some company. I have 3 cars on the short list and the GT-R is one of them. I just thought it was a fantastic documentary, right up there with the M3 ones. Seeing these special cars being made, and the stories behind them is awesome. I have a friend in Denmark who did the ring taxi in the M3, next time I'm there I may bug him to drive down and do it again!

Base price of GTR is $101,770 without a single option. Seems like it would be tough to get one 'down' at $90k without buying a last-year's leftover car...

I have had this discussion for years. Just hear to what this guy says about M3. Again is just a personal opinion from a guy that drives and compares many cars throughout the year. Try only to listen to the description of what that M3 is at that mo eng for him. I think it describes pretty much what a sport car should be.

I think $90k is very affordable, a bargain, for a supercar. We'll just have to disagree on that point if you feel otherwise. Carry on.

I haven't checked prices recently, but Nissan was offering a HUGE discount and brand new GT-R's, just months ago, were selling in the $80's. I almost bought one.
