I get these 3 codes once a week. First time car went into limp mode, I had car towed to dealer (dumb move) only for them to say "we cleared your faults, here's your diagnostic fee, nothing found." A few days later it happens again.

What are the codes?
I'm wondering if this is a symptom of the DSC module. $$ to replace I've read.
IIRC the unit needs to be welded and coded to your vehicle.

Now an interesting thing comes up, I think all of your errors come up possibly being attributed to your throttle valve actuator/s

my random codes are CC-ID 31 (DME/DDE 31 Engine Problem, Increased Emissions)
CC-ID 35 (DSC Failed)

Per last dealer invoice "Throttle Sensor fault found, occurred 1 time, cleared fault memory, did not reoccur, no repairs needed at this time"

Time for a pair of throttle actuators?

Seems like your getting all the codes I did when my actuator went, only happened recently to me also. Apparently they can be on and off like that but then just go altogether after a few weeks as others have seen. I had code checked and sorted it straight away, throttle actuator bank 1 was at fault. It has been replaced and issue sorted.

Searched for one of your motor codes and this showed up, more than likely an actuator gone.

With the collection of CAN faults, steering angle sensor time-out, and the large collection of codes. Start with the easy tests:
1. Check the battery with a reliable battery capacity tester. (not just a volt meter)
2. Run a complete charging system test. Some battery testers will do this also.
3. If battery and charging system are good, check for voltage drop at the battery connections.

Battery, charging system, and voltage problem with often cause multiple error codes. Some members also noted that the clock needed resetting often.

The problem only appers during startup and never during driving
Does that help to find the problem?

My similar problem/codes always happen about 10 minutes after starting. Normally at a red light. Always fun trying to pull away in limp mode. Usually after turning off the car and letting the car sit for a few minutes time, the codes go away and the engine returns to normal operation.

Will start looking for low mileage actuators on the used market

Got these codes frequently this weekend. Sometimes removing key and restarting would clear it up. Hopefully taking car into dealer this week. Not knowing when the car will randomly go into limp mode is getting old. I'll try to pull specific codes with BMWhat tonight.

DSC 24 DBC Dynamic Brake Control Brake Assist Failed
DME/DDE 29 Engine Problem, Power Reduced
DME/DDE 31 Engine Problem, Increased Emissions
DSC 35 DSC Failed
DSC 354 Start Assist Inactive

here's what BMWhat says..

Engine:
Fan motor 2 is activated (code 0027A2)
check at lower top (002B57)
Predriver check throttle valve actuator (002B22)

ABS/DSC Brake:
Engine torque is not adjustable CAN (005E19)

Next time the car is in limp mode, turn ignition on until the exclamation mark appears without the engine running. Then get someone to push the throttle while you peer under the plenum to see if the throttle levers are moving.

The drivers side (on an RHD car)is easy to see but passenger side needs a torch.

If one side isn't working, that's your problem. You need an actuator on that side.
