Question Adaptive M Suspension not showing in build

Hey guys... for those that have the Adaptive Suspension can you recall if it was displaying on the "Track Your BMW" website ? I've confirmed that it's on the build sheet that was submitted, but it's not displaying on the website.

The CA said that the website is useless because it causes more headaches and questions than anything... he told me that when i called him to ask why it's displaying as Carbon Black (changed online to Space Gray last night).

Just curious to know if anybody remembers what their online page looked like...

Yes that page isn't very accurate. Dealers use allocations that they originally had scheduled for your build so thats why it will show what the original build was set for initially and then switch over to your actual build later on. Even then I don't think it listed every option especially something that isn't a big package like the 2VF.

If you have your VIN# go to www.bmwvin.com to pull up your exact specs. Mine came up and it was 100% spot on listing every single detail.

Yep, use bmwvin.com. I've been using that website, along with the build sheet PDF that's floating around, to find the BMW I wanted on a dealer lot.

It's pretty easy to use.

look for either 2VF or 2VM

You will note that it lists both satin aluminum/high gloss black roof rails and Sports seats/multi contour seats.. which is not possible

Yeah everything worked out almost too well... I did my homework for a month, found super cheap airfare from Chicago to DC for the UDE, got an early flight home... ordered on a Friday and production started the following Monday (beating the production restriction). It's almost like the process was bound to have a hiccup and I was hoping a deal breaker like the suspension wouldn't be it. I'll get the VIN from the CA today and track it that way

Thanks for your help, guys.

I know what you mean.. I went through the same process and panicked when I saw that the 2VF was not listed.. others here have went through the same thing as well. Don't worry about it

Glad to see you went with the HK, drivers assistance and premium package. Those things aren't cheap, but I think you're going to enjoy the options

HK might get stripped in the spring, but it's good enough to get me through the winter. Standard sound package sounded like absolute crap and I wanted to save more cash to do the audio the right way.

Premium package - the guys on the forum own that as I was talked into it. Honestly, I found myself using the keyless entry, on my current car, more than I realized.

Be careful. 2VF and 2VM are not the same suspension.

I'm such a first-world softie now that a car without keyless entry (comfort access) seems downright primitive. Especially when you consider that it was standard on my wife's $31k Hyundai Azera.

Out of curiousity, doesn't the Harmon Kardon give you a better starting platform to upgrade? 16 speakers vs 9?

There are more... For instance, the rear doors are components, so any upgrade will need a mid and tweeter. I forgot how many are there in total, but it's excessive, regardless.

I couldn't find specs on the amp, but it's probably crap.

Right. I was in the away from my computer and couldn't remember which was Dynamic Handling Package and which was Adaptive Suspension. I just remembered that it's one or the other, you can't have both.

For the record, 2VF is the M Adaptive Suspension and 2VM is the Dynamic Handling Package Suspension, and they are mutually exclusive.

Actually,

2VM = DDC
2VF = Adapative M Suspension
ZDH = Dynamic Handling Package

Sorry, should have been more specific. My post was aimed towards identifying how you can see it in your build using the VIN decoder on BMWVIN.com.

I was only referring to the suspensions, not the whole ZDH package. BMWVIN.com won't show you ZDH nor will it show 7SZ; you can only see the components of a package, not the package code itself. In order to determine if the Dynamic Handling Package is included on your build you can look for the suspensions: 2VM is the suspension that's included in the ZDH, unless you get Adaptive M Suspension, in which case you'd see 2VF.

However, looking back on it, I should have said look for 2VP on BMWVIN.com... that is only available with Dynamic Handling Package.

www.bmwvin.com had an exact match to my build sheet. I'm feeling much better. LOL
