Peer pressure for F8x

A few of my buddies got out of their leases early to order an F8x. One got a coupe, the other a convertible. They keep nagging me about when I'm gonna trade in my 2011 Silverstone E92. It only has 25k miles. Gas mileage sucks but I still like the grunt of the engine and I think it still looks pretty good. Any of you guys get pressure to get a F8X?

I would never buy a car based solely on what my friends are telling me to do, but I did test drive an M4 and thought it was amazing. Great chassis and amazing torque, but I'd still never get rid of my e92. Maybe I'll add one down the road...

Peer pressure? That's high school stuff.....do what you want to do.
Test drive one and see if it's for you.
I test drove one when it first came out and I wasn't thrilled. Like Sunny D said....chassis is great, tons of torque, but there is a lag and I didn't like the steering. Personally I didn't like the interior.....and I don't want to even mention the noise it makes.

Good Luck!

IMO, when you are itching to spend the $85k, there are more interesting cars out there than the F80 ///M's. Or if not now, there soon will be. For some reason, the F8x just puts me to sleep. But then, that's just one person's opinion. If it has to be your daily driver, then maybe an F8x will do... but as a weekend/enthusiast car, I'll pass. Neither the engine nor the appearance are soul-stirring enough for me.

Rather than "me too" a car purchase in response to your friends, do something exciting and different. There's a world of choices out there!

Unless you use the rear seats... GT4.

For $80K, I'm buying a 997.1 GT3...I just couldn't justify the price of the M4 when in 3 years it will be 60% of the MSRP.

When I first saw the F8x I was impressed so I moved closer to check it out. When I got close enough to hear it I turned and ran the other way.

It sounds like its farting and has indigestion every time I see one.

To be brutally honest, the f8x is very tempting and I think in a couple of years that itch will get worse. Breaks my neck every time I see one on the street. While I wouldn't give up my e93 for one just yet, I would love to add a f80 down the line if my financial situation allows me to. Would make an amazing combination.

I'm kinda stuck looking for my next ride. New M5, M4, and M3 are big duds. Looking into Maserati GTS at this point.

Your right STook

Feel the same way. Its tempting but in a year or two I may change my mind and maybe find one used for a lot less.

The one I spec'd out and ordered was $80k after taxes and It wasn't even fully loaded. Your friend must've gotten a stripper.
