BMW M4 GTS - what are you willing to give up? 3 colors, no rear seat, 100kg reduction
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com And important for Americans? Can you live without the luxuries? As you get none. If you can answer these questions then you will receive a car that best to define is all about the three i's... Individuality, intimacy and Intensity. And on the body... Essentially around 100KG of reduction. The BMW M4 Moto GP Safety Car is in some cases the BMW M4 GTS Concept Car if we remove the livery, keep the M Performance add ons and change the front and rear lights (Market Specific). Although a more production-ready car will be unveiled at Pebble Beach in August. And that includes Water Injection. This is the individuality aspect its not just an M4 with more performance and fancy equipment as some who will never drive it will state. It extends the possibilities of the M4 through further innovation to generate that performance and increased dynamic intensity. Its the first step to show further possibilities in innovation that creates performance using sustainable technology. The next phase has its genes in the BMW CSL Hommage. The clue is different cap shapes. It is also a lesson in progress that has not reached conclusion. More info on the M4 GTS @ http://www.bimmerpost.com/?s=m4+gts

No navigation, no stereo, rear seat delete, cage/buckets/lasers (rest of world)...
But will the cage and buckets be available to U.S. customers via dealer install?

They may be available, but then the dealer could suspect that you plan to track it, and could void your warranty.

Depends if it's purpose is to be a C63S/ Porsche Turbo kind of car or a GT3 kind of car. If A nothing instead it needs more luxury as in better quality interior., audio etc. If B everything as long as it's faster than the competition around a track. No lame in between nonsense please. The M4 does that beautifully at half the price of the GTS ,thank you. But from all I heard and seen it's B we are looking at here.

Good post Scott.
....despite all the "I'm holding out for a GTS" posting around here, I really don't think more than 1% of the F82 buying public would really appreciate/want this car. Can't wait to see it in action, though, AND I hope that at least some of the tech/plans get worked into future cars (ahem - water injection - ahem)

The rear seats are so damn light in the f8x platform that I am surprised they bother deleting them. The e92 rear seats were heavy as crap with the fold down section being super solid and heavy. The bottom cushions were light as a feather. However the f8x fold down piece are super duper light. Same with the front seats. You get a lot of light weight stuff in the stock car this time around.
Really looking forward to seeing what they cutout to save weight especially given they are adding a cage and more engine pieces. |
