Generally - what is peak performance mileage for S65
My e90 only has 7700 miles - but it seems a bit more rev happy compared to when it had 3000 miles. Likely just in my mind - but any thoughts on when the S65 is in its prime? 20-45k maybe?
Truly my favorite aspect of this car is throttle response. I do my best to provide fresh 93 octane and we often have cool ambient temps. I've considered a green filter - not sure that would actually further increase the snappiness.

its not as much of a bell shaped curve as you would think. its more so a linear decrease over time.
i think a engines overall power and performance will stay stable for a long time, then just decline |

Good question. The motor probably has to be pretty old for it to underperform.
More importantly in my non expert opinion, the engine and car has to be driven hard from the get go. |

I remember reading an article a few years ago where one of the car mags did a 50k mile revisit with a BMW (cant recall what model) and found the car was producing more
power after 50k miles. Now we all know about the dynamic environments involved with dyno-ing cars but personally I absolutely believe it with modern oil and proper break in applied.

So, I had the plenum off a customers E92 as I was replacing the throttle actuators. I pulled the actuator down to check out the valves, and at 80,000km they were 100% spotless. Not a single dribble of oil. Even without DI I'm used to seeing some buildup. But no, the valves were shinny new looking.

I bought mine from 4750 miles. On 12500 now. Definitely loosened up nicely at around 10000. I recall a similar daydream moment in my old 335 at around 10000 and again smoothing out some more at around 20000. Of course it's not a big jump one day it's crap the next it's amazing put anything like that, more a reflection that the car is more easily settled and smoother.
