HELP: CODES!

After the lovely mother's day dinner, I started up the car and it felt like the car choked for a bit, the RPM jumped down to 500rpm and popped back up.

I went home, checked the codes and have the following....

Torque 1 Missing message (PT-CAN 00D354)
Torque 2 Missing message (PT-CAN 00D355)
Torque 3 Missing message (PT-CAN 00D356)

CAN Message 00E717
CAN Message 00E71A
CAN Message 00E71B
CAN Message 00E720

I have a Dinan Tune and DCT GTS software

any clue?

Maybe the low fuel pressure sensor. Have you searched here for similar codes?

Iv'e never seen codes displayed like that before so you may need to get the proper BMW specific codes read.

I did a search, it linked me to a E90 post thread where the owner had the same issue. I PMed him, but no response and the threat was quite useless...

Same here, I asked my local shop. They said it might be my screwed up ambient sensor causing issues...going to stop by on saturday for a quick look.

I believe you can get a visual on the ambient sensor in the driver's side brake duct. Check and see if it's still intact. Objects can fly in there and snap it as it's just cheap ass plastic.

It seems like it is still in tact. not sure if the wiring behind had came loose. Going to replace it this weekend anyways just incase.

Sounds like a module briefly went away on the PT-CAN bus... weird.

Have you simply tried to clear the codes and see if they come back?

Thanks, I did clear the codes, cranked the car up and the codes went away. I didn't drive it tho, I just let it ran for another 20 mins. However, the ambient temp sensor was still over 100deg.

Fixing the ambient temp sensor certainly won't hurt. Start there and keep an eye on everything to see if the codes come back.

It was the DME module which had those codes posted against it?
